Applications are appraised by one of our Application Reviewers. The most exemplary candidates are invited to a casual interview in person or by phone. If a candidate's application is accepted, he or she is then considered a novice of the Pact, and he or she begins a course of practices entitled, Liber MMM, which is charted through a journal or private blog. Liber MMM is found in the book, Liber Null & Psychonaut by Peter J. Carroll, and is published by Samuel Weiser. You may find this book in occult stores in North America or online through amazon.com.

The novice's practice occurs with the guidance of a mentor, whom is a member of the Pact in good standing. Liber MMM, as an entrance requirement to the Pact, is performed for a minimum of 6 months, yet depending upon experience and discipline may take as long as 18 months. MMM practice is expected to take between 30 minutes to an hour each day. Breaks or missed days should be rare and if amounting to more than two days a month, result in time added to the end of novitiate. In order to be considered for initiation, the novice meets targets set by the mentor during the novitiate period. In the case that the novice is unwilling to do so, then the novice may be dismissed at any time.

Once approved by the mentor, the novice undergoes an initiation to the level of Neophyte (4°) through the Temple most convenient to the novice's location, and is then able to participate fully throughout the Pact by attending temple, national and international meetings. (NB. Some temples invite novices to their meetings, an oath of silence is offered by the novice in this instance

IOT North America section functions as a flourishing, close-knit organization committed to excellence & innovation in magic, and to each other. Pro-activity and co-activity are encouraged between members. Strength of the group mind and friendship are consolidated by a code of privacy, trust and good communication. Individual temples retain autonomy in terms of activity and privacy. IOT North America sets high standards of admission.
